Bourbon Barrel Talk

The crew discusses our Derby Pick'em promotion and reviews two Wilderness Trail SiB picks done for the Starlight Barrel Society. We pick our favorite horses and discuss who we think might win. We will do this for the Preakness and Belmont too.

Scott, the Brocks and Carl review a recent Old Louisville Pick Scott did with Chad Huffman and the Mythical Bourbon Group. after this episode they went back and bought the sister barrel. 

Scott, the Brocks and Carl review two special release whiskeys from Westward Whiskey Co. Their special limited edition Milestone Release and their whiskey finished in stout barrels. 

Scott, Ryan, Carl and Jared discuss the final results from the tournament of 64 whiskeys. We also review 2 unique Good Times bottles, Seaglass and Honey Cherry. 

The crew puts together a barrel strength batch of the amburana finished bourbon. This batch went 11 days with right at 14 grams total. 11 initially and 3 added at day 8. The blend consisted of 10 bourbons all barrel strength and ended up at 118.6 proof. 

Scott, Nick and Carl, discuss the Elite 8 results along with predict how this whole bracket ends up. We also review two recent Starlight releases. They are the two highest proofs so far. 129.7 (Bourbon Analytics) and 130 proof (Ted Pick).

The crew sits down and reviews a batch of "cigar batch" bourbon we blended with Northeast Barrel Amburana chips. We blended some Old Fo 100 and WT 101 with the chips and discussed the final product.
